The first year in my 30s was by far one of the best years I have lived. I cannot recall the last time I made this statement aside from believing that my 8th year of life was my favorite (Pretty sure it's because I have a thing for the number 8).
Now, people find the term "best" synonyms with "happiest". This is not the case for me when I mention it was the best year of my life. I define "best" as "outstanding", a year that continued to exceed all expectations I had.

Yes, I had my ups and down. I cried over heartbreak, made poor decisions, and stressed over work. Yet, it was the strength that I exemplified during those hard times and the humbleness to embrace the positive memories are what I cherish the most from this first year.
Here are 8 myths that I've learned for those that are just joining the 30s Club!
MYTH #1: Your friends and family always come first.
Reality: Your pet does.
MYTH#2: You will be independent and manage your budget more effectively
Reality: You will be spending a lot more money on food & drinks, while calling your Dad/Mom for help
MYTH#3: You’ll be less attractive than you were in your 20s
Reality: Only if you allow yourself to think that - Remember, confidence is attractive!
MYTH#4: Your maturity level will improve
Reality: .... that's what she said.
MYTH#5: You will become a home body and be less adventurous
Reality: Young grasshopper, your life has just begun.
MYTH#6: You will have found the true meaning to life
Reality: Sit down and listen.
MYTH#7: Your highlight of the day will be reading a new chapter from a book or a motivational podcast
Reality: Memes. It's all about memes.
MYTH#8: You will meet the man/woman of your dreams and live happily ever after.
Reality: You'll be watching serial killers shows and drinking wine out of a box.
In all seriousness, you will learn that "best" has a different meaning to each individual and your 30s will help you uncover what your 20s couldn't.
Feel free to drop a comment on Myths that you run into in your 30s! Would love to hear your reality.
Love,
