God Keeps His Promises: A Weekly Christian Reflection on Faith, Fasting, and Spiritual Growth

A close friend suggested that we read the Bible daily, so we bought a guide to assist with our daily readings. The guide is titled "A Beautiful Year in The Bible: The 52 Week Bible Study for Women." This week focuses on several books that highlight God's Unbreakable Promises.
This has proven helpful in our journey towards Becoming. :)
Over the past week, one message became clear through scripture, discipline, and reflection:
God keeps His promises.
From Genesis 12–15 to Joshua 16–20, and through Romans 7–8, Psalms 9–11, and Job 7–8, we see a consistent pattern—God calls, we walk in faith, and in His perfect timing, He fulfills.
Trusting God’s Promises in the Waiting Season
In Genesis 12:1–2, God invites Abram to venture into the unknown with a promise:
“Go… to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation…”
Abram had no evidence—only a promise to rely on.
Many of us find ourselves in a similar period today.
A time when we are called to trust God without having all the answers.
Later, in Joshua 21:45, we witness the promise fulfilled:
“Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.”
This illustrates God’s nature—He remains faithful, even when the journey feels uncertain.
When Faith Feels Heavy: Lessons from Job 7–8
A profound reminder this week came from Job 7–8.
Job, a man of faith, candidly shares his exhaustion, frustration, and confusion.
He questions God and feels overwhelmed.
This highlights a crucial truth in the Christian faith:
You can feel overwhelmed and still maintain faith.
Faith doesn’t eliminate emotions or doubts—it means continuing to trust God amid them.
When life feels burdensome, we cling to God’s promises, not just our emotions.
Spiritual Discipline: Two Weeks into the Becoming Transformation
This week marked two weeks into the Becoming: Lion’s Gem Transformation, a 40–90 day journey focused on spiritual, mental, and physical growth.
What once seemed like a lengthy commitment is already progressing swiftly.
Through daily discipline, we are fostering consistency and alignment:
Daily Bible reading
Prayer and reflection
Clean, intentional nutrition
Two workouts per day
Drinking a gallon of water
Alongside a weekly rhythm of:
Intentional rest
Time with God and family
Disconnecting from distractions
Reflecting through progress check-ins
Additionally, a 36-hour fast has deepened spiritual clarity, strengthened discipline, and created space for surrender.
This journey is not just about routine—it’s about true transformation and alignment with God’s purpose.
Finding Gratitude in the Growth Process
Even amid challenges, this week brought a deeper sense of gratitude.
Gratitude for:
Family and loved ones
Quality time with my children
Moments of stillness with God
The opportunity to grow, reset, and realign
Spiritual growth is not just about discipline—it’s about recognizing God’s presence in every season.
How to Grow Spiritually and Strengthen Your Faith
If you feel called to reset your life, grow in faith, or build discipline, here are some simple ways to start:
Spend daily time in the Bible (even 15 minutes)
Incorporate prayer and reflection into your routine
Practice fasting or intentional discipline
Prioritize rest and time with loved ones
Release control and trust God’s timing
An Invitation to Begin Your Faith Journey
If you’ve felt the urge to grow spiritually, reset your habits, and realign your life—this is your invitation.
We are only two weeks into the journey.
There is still time to begin.
Becoming isn’t about perfection. It’s about consistency, surrender, and faith—one day at a time.
Because even in the waiting, the uncertainty, and the stretching…
God is still keeping His promises.
